LION’s GATE
Our wedding takes place on August 8, during a window of time many astrologers and spiritual traditions call the Lion’s Gate Portal, associated with the Sun in Leo and the heliacal rising of Sirius, when the star becomes visible again in the early morning sky after a period of absence.
In ancient Egypt, Sirius’ reappearance often coincided with the flooding of the Nile, coming to symbolize renewal and abundance. The Lion’s Gate is believed to be strongest on August 8, when Sirius, the Sun in Leo, and Orion’s Belt are said to align energetically with the Earth, opening a “portal” into higher dimensions and creating an otherworldly landscape for clarity, transformation, deeper spiritual connection, and alignment with higher purpose.
Today, many view this window as especially resonant for love, reflection, and new beginnings, which is why it feels so meaningful for us to marry under this celestial time, held dear for intention-setting, renewal, destine, and the joining of hearts.
